To provide a medical chair unit for dental surgery or the like, in which the attitude of a headrest can be controlled without manual operation by solving the problem of the conventional one wherein the attitude control for the headrest of the medical chair has to be controlled and set every time and is complicated, as a preventive measure against contagion, the manual operating part of the headrest should be disinfected, and the attitude control for the inclination to the left, inclination to the right, and oblique inclination has not been performed.
The attitude of the headrest to the inclination to the front, the back, the left, the right and oblique direction is controlled by a spherical ultrasonic motor disposed in the headrest. This chair unit includes a headrest support projected at the tip of the backrest of the chair, a spherical ultrasonic motor disposed with a spherical rotor on the upper side of the tip held from three directions, and a mechanism for transmitting the movement in the respective directions of a rotor shaft rotated in response to an ultrasonic driving signal applied to the stator to the base plate of the headrest.
