PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance-free dental or medical air turbine handpiece which eliminates a need for performing feeding a lubricating oil each time in use and autoclave and maintains the durability of ball bearings by using special seal ring structures for the ball bearings. SOLUTION: The dental or medical air turbine handpiece comprising a head housing 1 which has intake ports 11, a revolving shaft 2 which is freely rotatably housed in this head housing 1 and has blades 21 for receiving the feed air from the intake ports 11, and the ball bearings 3 which support the revolving shaft 2 freely rotatably at the upper and lower sides across the intake ports 11 within the head housing 1, in which the ball bearings 3 are provided with heat resistant mechanical seals 4 on the side near the intake ports 11.
