When ampoules difficult for self-standing conveyance are collected by a collector 8, a frame 9 is mounted by an operator OP, the ampoules are fed onto a palette 10 on a conveyance system 11, the relevant palette 10 is conveyed into a freeze-drying cabinet 13 by the conveyance system 11, and a collected ampoule group AG is carried into the freeze-drying cabinet 13 and freeze-dried. Then, the empty palette 10 is conveyed to the downstream and transferred onto a conveyance plane U of a lower stage by a fifth transferring device 56 and when the relevant palette 10 is conveyed to the upstream and transferred onto a conveyance plane O of an upper stage by a free flow conveyer FA as a first transferring device 51, the palette is conveyed to in front of the collector 8 again. Therefore, both vials and ampoules difficult for self-standing conveyance can be freeze-dried in the same system, and further by dividing the system into two upper and lower stages, miniaturization can be attained so that the system can be partitioned from the outside by a sterilization chamber.
