Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality guide wire consisting of a main wire material 2 of a flexible slender striate body with a highly flexible tip part 3 and the hardest rear end part 5 wherein the mechanical properties of the interstitial part gradually change from hardness to softness.
SOLUTION: The main wire material 2 of the guide wire 1 consists of a SUS material film layer 7 and an Ni-Ti alloy film layer 8 on the outer surface of a core line 6 of the SUS material. The SUS material film layer 7 and the Ni-T/alloy film layer 8 are joined on a slanting joint surface 10 slanting toward a central axis of the core line 6, and constitute an even, single and linear corpus striatum. At the same time, the thickness of the SUS material film layer 7 becomes maximum (film thickness T1) at the rear end part 5 and that of the Ni-Ti alloy film layer 8 becomes maximum (film thickness becomes T2) at the tip part 3.
