Abstract:
To enable easily diagnosing or examining the pancreas even when the main pancreatic duct is visualized partially interrupted on an image.SOLUTION: A medical image processing apparatus according to an embodiment includes an obtaining unit, a first extracting unit, a second extracting unit, an identifying unit, and an estimating unit. The obtaining unit is configured to obtain a medical image related to a pancreas. The first extracting unit is configured to extract a pancreas region included in the medical image. The second extracting unit is configured to extract at least one tubular structure region from the inside of the pancreas region. The identifying unit is configured to identify a first end part and a second end part related to the pancreas on the basis of the pancreas region. The estimating unit is configured to estimate a primary pancreatic duct centerline of the pancreas on the basis of the tubular structure region, the first end part, and the second end part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
