Abstract:
PURPOSE: To assist the respiration function of a patient and to restore the respiration capacity, by continuously closed-loop controlling the pressure of gas in the mouth or the air duct of a patient based on a selected pressure waveform. CONSTITUTION: This medical ventilation system is controlled by a microprocessor 3, and the control signal thereof flows through an output signal line 2 and transmitted to a control valve 5 and a pressure control valve 7. A mixed flow of oxygen and air is sent through an inspired air conduit 8 to an air circuit 21 of the patient. The gas pressure in the patient's mouth is measured by a pressure sensor 23 and the signal thereof is sent to a CPU 3. The expired air from the patient 25 is sent through the patient's air circuit 21 and an expiration diaphragm valve 17. A pressure control valve 9 sends gas from an adjusted source to the rear part of the expiration air diaphragm valve 17 to control the pressure loaded on the rear face of the diaphragm. Thus the difference between a practical value of a parameter of the pressure of gas and a desired value.
