Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the medicinal composition containing at least one kind of a specific rhodacyanine analogue as an active ingredient, having high selectivity to cancer cell and useful for photochemical treatment and diagnosis for cancer, especially carcinoma or melanoma.
CONSTITUTION: At least one kind of a compound expressed by the formula [R is alkyl, aryl or heterocyclic group; A or B is 5-6 membered ring containing at least one hetero atom or its condensed ring; Y is S, O, Se or NR; L1 to L5 are (substituted)methine, etc.; Q is pair anion; (k) is number necessary for adjusting electron of whole molecule to 0; (p) and (q) are 0, 1, 2 or 3] and used as an active ingredient is blended with a medical carrier, a diluent, oil, oil and fat, a cellulose derivative, cyclodextrin, an emulsifying agent, etc., and the blend is prepared to provide the objective medicinal composition for cancer photochemotheraphy or diagnosis having high selectivity to cancer cells.
