NEW MATERIAL: A compd. represented by formula I [wherein A is groups represented by formulae II-IV (wherein R is a halogen, an alkyl, an alkoxy or amino, Q1 is O or S, B is thienyl or pyridyl and (m) is 0-4) bonded along with two C-atoms of a 7-membered ring, R2 is H, a (phenyl) alkyl or an alkylcarbonyl, R3 and R4 are each H, an alkyl or OH and R5 is phenyl, thienyl, cyclopentyl, benzyl or phenetyl].
EXAMPLE: 5-(4-Chlorophenyl)-2,3-dihydro-1H-benzothieno-[3,2-e]-1,4-diazepine hydrobromide.
USE: This new material is an antiulcer agent and has a characteristic suitably used for ulcer in a gastrointestinal tract.
PROCESS: A compd. represented by formula V [wherein B' is (R)m-substituted phenyl or B] is converted by a compd. represented by the formula (L is a halogen).
