Abstract:
PURPOSE: To give an important medicine by an accurate and automatic method without remarkably limiting the motion of the body and daily living of a patient by providing an optical operation sensor for monitoring the motion of a selected mechanical output element in a mechanical device. CONSTITUTION: An optical operation sensor 12 is assembled in a pump housing 16 related to a selected mechanical output element of a driving motor 14. The operation sensor 12 includes a small-sized photoelectron element to detect the displacement of a related output element, thereby detecting the actual operation of the mechanical output element correlated to the actual supply of a medicine to a patient. The operation sensor 12 obtains an output signal regularly changing according to the actual displacement of the mechanical output element. An output signal is returned to a controller 52 to be compared with a driving signal input to the driving motor 14.
