Abstract:
To make it possible to eliminate slack in a recording medium caused when a rolled medium is rotated in a normal direction and in a reverse direction and hence improve image quality.SOLUTION: A medium carrier comprises: a medium support shaft; a rolled medium that when a first drive unit is driven in a normal direction, is rotated in a normal direction to draw a recording medium; a first torque limiter 90 that limits torque of the medium support shaft; a second drive unit that is coupled to the medium support shaft and rotates the rolled medium in a reverse direction; and a second torque limiter 91 that limits torque output from the second drive unit and transmits it to the medium support shaft. This eliminates slack occurring in a recording medium when the rolled medium is rotated in the normal direction and in the reverse direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
