To provide a medium conveying device, and an image forming device capable of simplifying the removing work in abnormality of a medium occurs.
The medium conveying device comprises a delivery member to deliver media on a medium stacking part, a feed roller 82 to convey the delivered medium, a retard roller 83 which is arranged facing the feed roller 82 to discriminate the medium, a conveying abnormality determination means to determine whether or not any conveying abnormality of the medium occurs, and a conveying abnormality releasing means to backwardly rotate the feed roller 82 when any conveying abnormality of the medium occurs. In this case, when any conveying abnormality of the medium occurs, the feed roller 82 is backwardly rotated, a paper sheet 12 is returned to the medium stacking part, and the releasing work can be simplified thereby.
