Abstract:
To provide a medium discharge device capable of sorting a discharged medium with a simpler constitution, and in a small size, and also at a low cost.SOLUTION: The medium discharge device includes: discharge means that discharges a medium; a first medium receiving tray that receives a medium discharged by the discharge means; and a second medium receiving tray that is provided above the first medium tray in the vertical direction and receives the medium discharged by the discharge means. The second medium receiving tray is displaceable between an advancing position where an upstream part including at least an upstream side end part in the medium discharge direction receives a medium discharged by advancing to a passage route of the medium that is from the discharge means to the first medium receiving tray, and a retreat position for retreating from the passage route.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
