To provide a medium processor that can automatically select processing between needle binding and crimp binding according to the number of sheets to be bound, and that also controls application or non-application of liquid in the crimp binding processing.SOLUTION: A medium processor includes: a liquid-applying section for applying liquid to a liquid-applying position of at least one medium; a pressure-binding section for binding a plurality of media, including the at least one medium to which liquid has been applied, by pressurizing and deforming at least a portion of the media to which liquid has been applied by the liquid-applying section; a needle binding section for performing needle binding using a needle on a media bundle comprising the plurality of media; and a control section for controlling operation of the pressure-binding section, the liquid-applying section, and the needle binding section. The control unit selectively switches between the first binding processing by the liquid-applying section and the crimping section and the second binding processing by the needle binding section only, according to the information on the media or the binding position where the media bundle is bound by the crimping section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
