Abstract:
A medium processing device (1) includes a conveyance path (10) for convoying a medium (100), a hitting guide part (14) that is positioned on the side of one end of a width direction (an arrow D2) of the conveyance path and has a hit surface (14a) hit by a side surface (a left end 100d) of the medium 100, and a magnetic read/write unit (2a) for reading/writing magnetic information of the medium (100) on the conveyance path. The hitting guide part (14) has an escape part (a concave part 14b) that is opposed to the side surface (the left end 100d) of part of the medium (100) when the magnetic information is read/written by the magnetic read/write unit (2a) and takes a position separate from the hit surface (14a).
