Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the image quality disturbance generated in a moving image by controlling the selection of a sub field subject to light emission in response to a display content of the luminance of an image and picture elements in the vicinity.
SOLUTION: The device is provided with a sub field information generating circuit 1, a sub field comparator circuit 2, a selection discrimination circuit 3, and a sub field conversion circuit 4. In the case of displaying an intermediate state of the image by the sub field method, each sub field value is set so as to display a same luminance of the image based on plural combinations of sub fields and the selection of one combination is controlled among plural combinations of sub fields so that a timewise position and a lighted sub field value in a displayed image are uniformized between photoelectric conversion elements spatially in the vicinity to the utmost. Thus, the lighted sub field is controlled for the selection in response to the luminance of the image and the display content of the vicinity picture elements.
