Abstract:
A media-bundling device comprising: a conveyance unit for conveying a media bundle in which multiple media have been bundled; a pressing unit that is provided on a first surface side of the media bundle, which has been conveyed by the conveyance unit to a bundling position that is the position at which the media bundle is to be bundled, in the media bundle thickness direction and is for pressing the first surface of the media; a support that is provided on the second surface side of the media bundle in the thickness direction, that together with the pressing unit clamps the media bundle therebetween, and that supports the media bundle so as to bend same in a prescribed shape when the pressing unit presses the first surface of the media bundle; and a retraction mechanism for retracting the conveyance unit so as not to impede the bending of the media bundle when the pressing unit presses the first surface of the media bundle. The media bundle that has been bent in the specified shape at the bundling position is bundled.
