PURPOSE: To minimize a stickiness problem brought about when a molded article is produced by adding a melt-release material to a compsn. and providing a melt-release material layer on a cutting and transfer means to continuously supply the same by the melt-release material brought about from the molten compsn.

CONSTITUTION: A material comprising a thermoplastic polymer forming a molten thermoplastic gasket is continuously cut into individual molten pieces. A cutting and transfer surface means is adapted to the molten material to transfer the molten pieces to respective lids one by one to mold a gasket in each of a large number of lids and a molten gasket molding material contains a melt-release material. The melt-release material layer is present on the cutting and transfer surface means and supplied continuously by the melt-release material brought about from molten material.
