Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a melt transfer ink image receiving sheet good in dot reproducibility and obtaining high recording density.

CONSTITUTION: A melt transfer ink image receiving sheet has a sheet like support, the undercoat layer (coating amt.; 8g/m2) formed on one surface of the support and the ink image receiving layer (coating amt.; 4g/m2) formed on the undercoat layer and based on a resin and pigment. The undercoat layer is characterized by containing wax and/or a rosin compd. and, pref., smoothing treatment due to a super calender is applied to the undercoat layer after the image receiving layer is formed to set the Oken smoothness of the undercoat layer to 1000sec.
