The melting control method for the electric resistance type ash melting furnace comprises a step of setting a charged amount target value for ashes into the furnace on a program basis, a step of setting a temperature rise target value for a temperature in the furnace on a program basis, a step of measuring the temperature in the furnace, a step of charging the ashes into the furnace in accordance with a time schedule for the set charged amount target value, and a step of controlling power to be supplied to an electrode depending on a deviation between the set temperature rise target value and an actually measured value for the measured temperature in the furnace. Its device uses the same.
