Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a rise in an ambient temperature of a material container for storing a metallic material.SOLUTION: A melting device for a metallic material includes: a rotating shaft 31; a direct-current magnetic field generating device for generating a direct-current magnetic field B passing through the rotating shaft 31; a material container 40 mounted to the rotating shaft 31 and located in a magnetic field of the direct-current magnetic field B; a rotating device 90 for rotating either one of the direct-current magnetic field generating device or the material container 40 about the rotating shaft 31; a heat insulating section 60 for insulating heat of the material container 40; and a forced cooling section for forcedly cooling the heat insulating section 60. The heat insulating section 60 includes: a light transmissive inner cylindrical body 61 surrounding the material container 40; an outer cylindrical body 65; and a reflection layer 67 that is provided on the peripheral surface on either one side of an outer peripheral surface of the inner cylindrical body 61 or an inner peripheral surface of the outer cylindrical body 65 to reflect radiant heat from the metallic material M stored in the material container 40 to the inner side. The forced cooling section forcedly cools the heat insulating section 60 by supplying air or water to the outer peripheral surface side of the outer cylindrical body 65.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
