To perform tapping without moving a conveying means in a melting device in which a metallic material is continuously charged to an electric furnace.
The melting device comprises: the electric furnace 2 for melting the metallic material; and the conveying means 3 for conveying the metallic material 2, and charging the metallic material to the electric furnace 2 disposed at a lower part from the conveying means 3 disposed at an upper part, and also comprises a connecting portion 10 for connecting a metallic material charging port 26 of the electric furnace 2 and a metallic material discharge port 348 of the conveying means 3. The connecting portion 10 is fixed to one of the electric furnace 2 and the conveying means 3, and detachable to the other.
