In the melting treatment of an object W to be treated, the object W is charged and stored in a treated object pit 18 defined by a partitioning plate 16 ordinarily kept in a closed state and provided with a movable bottom face 20 for pushing-up the object W at its lower portion, the partitioning plate 16 is opened, the movable bottom face is raised to a position not disturbing the closing of the partitioning plate 16, then the partitioning plate 16 is closed, and the object W on the movable bottom face 20 is supported by an upper face 16a of the partitioning plate 16 from a lower portion, thus the object W is supplied to a melting chamber 12 from a lower portion to be melted.
