To make a useless space in a furnace unnecessary and reduce energy loss by incorporating at least one set of heat generating module into a ceiling plate for heating in a melting furnace having an electric heater attached to the ceiling plate.
A plurality of heat generating modules 1 are incorporated into the ceiling plate of a melting furnace in order to heat the melting furnace. The heat generating module 1 is constituted fundamentally of a U-shape heat generating rod 2, a supporting body 3 and a proticting plate 4 while the U-shape heat generating rod 2 is operated electrically. The heat generating rod 2 is attached to the first surface 3A of the supporting body 3. The supporting body 3 is formed of a constituting element of parallelepiped body having given sizes. The supporting body 3 is preferably made of an insulating and non-conductive material electrically or vacuum-formed aluminum oxide board or mulite fiber board. The heat generating rod 2 is attached to the center of the surface 3A of the supporting body 3 and, therefore, the longitudinal axis of a U-shape area becomes parallel to the longitudinal axis of the supporting body 3.
