Abstract:
To provide a melting furnace capable of efficiently discharging an abnormally produced exhaust gas in the furnace body.
The melting furnace comprises a main exhaust pipe 31 connected to a preheating tank 2, a bypass exhaust pipe 41 connected to a throat 3, a normally closed bypass switching valve 44 inserted in the bypass exhaust pipe 41, a pressure gage 61 for detecting the pressure in the throat 3, and control means 62 for opening the bypass switching valve 44 for guiding the exhaust gas to the bypass exhaust pipe 41 when the pressure value obtd. by the pressure gage 61 exceeds a specified value.
