To provide a member for analysis with which the presence or absence of a polynucleotide having a specific base sequence in a specimen can rapidly and accurately be ascertained without requiring complicate operation; and to provide a method for ascertaining the presence or absence of the polynucleotide having the specific base sequence in the specimen by using the member for the analysis.
The member for analyzing the polynucleotide has (A) a part for carrying out amplification, and (B) a hybridization part having a porous layer on which an oligonucleotide for the detection is immobilized, both of which are connected to each other by a flow channel. The method for ascertaining the presence or absence of the polynucleotide having the specific base sequence in the specimen involves detecting the presence or absence of the amplification of the polynucleotide at the part (A) by the hybridization at the part (B) by using the member and flowing a solution containing the specimen, a primer and a DNA polymerase in the parts (A) and (B) in this order.
