To provide an opening/closing member control unit which can detect that foreign matter is pinched by an opening/closing member, and which enables the opening/closing member to be surely operated in consideration of the following situations, even if the opening/closing member has not been operated for a long period of time.

This opening/closing member control unit 1 comprises: a driving means 2 for driving the opening/closing of the opening/closing member 11; a movement speed detecting means for outputting a speed detection signal according to the movement of the opening/closing member 11; a movement speed storage means for prestoring movement speed data as learning data; a pinching detecting means for detecting the pinching of the foreign matter by the opening/closing member 11 on the basis of operation information stored in the storage means; a movement speed updating means for updating the learning data; a current date and time acquiring means; an operation date and time storage means; and an operation determination means for determining an operation or a nonoperation by determining the rejection of the operation of the opening/closing member 11. The operation determination means compares the nearest preceding operation date and time with a current date and time, and makes the opening/closing member operate normally only when an interval between them is equal to/shorter than a predetermined one.
