To provide a fishing or sport article member which maintains a strength, is light, has an excellent appearance, and does not cause the damage or peeling of a letter, a pattern, or the like formed on the surface.
The surface of a tubular member main body 1 is covered with plural tape-like protecting films 5 such as photosensitive films or masking tapes, and the tubular member main body outer surfaces exposed from windows between the protecting films 5 are polished by a chemical polishing method, a shot blast processing method or the like. The protecting films 5 are then peeled to show dent surfaces 1a and protruded surfaces 1b formed on the surface of the tubular member main body 1, and the dent surfaces 1a are specular. A thin film 7 is formed to cover the dent surfaces 1a and the protruded surfaces 1b by a physical vacuum evaporation method such as an ion plating method or a spattering method, a coating method or a plating method. The dent surfaces 1a are preferably formed in a depth of 2 to 10 μm, and the surface roughness Ra is ≤0.5 μm, preferably ≤0.1 μm, measured according to the definition of JIS.
