PURPOSE: To impart high strength to a heat exchanger and to attain its thinning and lightening.
CONSTITUTION: As a brazing filler metal, an Al alloy contg. 6.5 to 11.5% Si and 0.2 to <1.0% Mg and, if required, furthermore contg. one or two kinds of 0.01 to 0.2% Bi and 0.0005 to 0.05% Be is used. As a fin material, an Al alloy contg. 0.5 to 2.0% Mn, 0.4 to 1.5% Si and 0.2 to 0.6% Mg, furthermore contg. one or 5 two kinds among 0.1 to 2.0% Zn, 0.005 to 0.05% In and 0.05 to 0.2% Sn and, if required, moreover contg. one or ≥ two kinds among 0.05 to 0.25% Zr, 0.05 to 0.25% Ti, 0.05 to 0.25% V, 0.05 to 0.25% Cr and 0.5 to 1.5% Fe is used. Thus, high strength can be imparted to the fin of a heat exchanger without causing the increase of scales in a furnace at the time of brazing and detarioration in its brazability.
