Abstract:
To provide a crucible material satisfactory in the melting efficiency of non-ferrous metals and having a long service life, and a casting machine member such as a stoke capable of stably producing a casting of high quality.SOLUTION: A teacup-shaped container base material (or a member for a casting machine) is formed by a ferrous material, and thereafter, the container base material is subjected to calorizing treatment to form an aluminum-diffused layer in the vicinity of the surface layer of the container base material. Further, the container body after the calorizing treatment is heated at a prescribed temperature for a prescribed time in an oxidizing atmosphere to selectively oxidize a diffusion material diffused into the surface layer of the container base material. Then, a refractory is covered on the outer circumference of the base material body selectively oxidized with the diffusion material to form a member for a molten metal having a multilayer structure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
