Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve mechanical strength and rebound performance of the member in the titled by a method wherein, glass fiber of not less than 10% in a weight ratio is mixed in a material rubber to mold and vulcanize the mixture in case of the captioned member to be used in ball joints. CONSTITUTION:A spherical part 2a of a ball stud 2 is slidably housed in a ball joint socket 1 in a manner that it is wrapped with upper and lower ball seats 3 and 4 separated from each other, and a space between the socket 1 and the stub 2 is covered with a dust cover 7. A rubber spring member 10 is attached to the lower part of the lower ball seat 4 of said spherical part 2a, and an operating torque is applied to the stud 2 by a sliding resistance produced between the seat 4 and the spherical part 2a as a result of a pressing force being exerted thereon by an end cover 6. In this case, the rubber spring member 10 is molded and vulcanized by mixing glass fiber of 10% or more in a weight ratio in a material rubber. This method improves the mechanical strength and rebound performance of said member 10.
