To avert the failure at the time of dropping by providing the module with a main body which is easy to carry and have separating membranes for separating the liquid to be filtered to particle components and filtrate and providing the recessed part formed at this main body with a juncture for a discharge pipe for discharging the filtrate separated by these separating membranes.
A membrane module 11 housed in a frame constituting a membrane unit built into a septic tank is constituted by joining a pair of membrane module half bodies 11a, 11b. The respective membrane module half bodies 11a, 11b are formed as primary side flow passages 15 in which the liquid to be treated flow between the separating membranes 13 and 13 mounted on one surface side of the case half bodies 12a, 12b having an approximately planar shape. At this time, mesh-like grooves 61 are formed on the inner side enclosed by frame-like projections for positioning the separating membranes 13 formed on the inner flanks of the respective case half bodies 12a, 12b and, in addition, longitudinal grooves 62 deeper than these grooves 61 are formed. A joint 65 communicating with the secondary side flow passages is disposed near a clamping part 64 disposed at the top edge of the case half body 12a.
