Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically press a spigot ring into a spigot to form a projecting part to be engaged with the inner surface of a socket for slip prevention on the spigot of a cast iron pipe.
SOLUTION: This spigot ring pressing device is composed of a pipe supporting part 21 in which a pairs of rollers 20, 20 whose axes are parallel to each other are aligned in parallel with a pipe axis 1A and along the pipe axis 1A, a pipe supporting frame 23 provided with a reaction supporting plate 22 for axially supporting the pipe end of the pipe 1 on the pipe supporting part 21, a spigot ring supporting ring 24 facing the other side pipe end on the pipe supporting frame 23, a propulsion device 25 for pressing the spigot ring supporting ring 24 to the pipe end on the pipe supporting frame 23, and a packing which is an elastic ring body to be fitted between the inner surface of a spigot ring supporting ring 24 and the outer surface of the spigot ring, provided with a rib extending on the inner surface in the radial direction.
