PURPOSE: To provide the memory card which is strong against bending and is tolerant to adverse circumstances and is easily expanded to be multifunction and is inexpensive by sealing circuit elements in a card substrate with a synthetic resin and covering them with a synthetic resin sheet member.

CONSTITUTION: A memory card 1 is used as an ID card like, what is called, a cash card, a commutation ticket, or the like and consists of a substrate 2, circuit elements 3, and a sheet 4. Circuit elements 3 and a spacer arranged on the plane approximately leveled with circuit elements 3 are arranged and sealed in the synthetic resin substrate 2, and both of upper and lower faces of the substrate 2 are covered with the synthetic resin sheet member 4. Circuit elements 3 are sealed in the substrate 2 so as to be wrapped with the resin in this manner, and they are roughly classified into semiconductor elements 31 and transmission/reception elements 32. The sheet 4 is the resin sheet covering the surface of the memory card 1 and consists of an upper sheet 41 covering the front face of the memory card 1 and a lower sheet 42 covering the back face.
