PURPOSE: To obtain a mental fatigue preventing and removing agent containing fennel oil, prepared in a form absorbed from nosal mucosa, oral cavity mucosa or lung and effective for prevention and removal of fatigue caused by mental stress or ulcer induced by mental stress.
CONSTITUTION: A mental fatigue preventing a removing agent which is an essential oil obtained by subjecting the fruits of Foeniculum vulgare Miller to steam distillation, containing fennel oil which contains anethole as a main ingredient, α-pinene, camphene, limonene, cineole, p-cymene, fenchone and anise aldehyde as other ingredients, and prepared in a form of spraying agent or volatile aromatic inhaled by diffusing into air, confectioneries such as gum and candy, troche, mouth-washing liquid, jelly, soft drink, sublingual tablet, etc., and absorbed by diffusing in mouth. In the form for diffusing into air, the concentration in air is to be kept to ≥0.45ng/l and in the form for diffusing in mouth, concentration of fennel oil is to be kept to 4.5×10-7%.
