Abstract:

To provide a menthol derivative obtained by converting menthol with a fungus, Rhizoctonia solani, a method for producing the same and an antibacterial agent or a sterilizer containing the derivative as an active ingredient.

This menthol derivative is expressed by general formula (I) (wherein, R1, R2are the same or different and are each H or an alkanoyl), and the method for producing the same and the antibacterial agent or sterilizer containing the same as the active ingredient are also provided.
