PURPOSE: To prevent a troublesome situation in which merchandise different from desired merchandise is sold to a purchaser by automatically detecting whether the merchandise is appropriately loaded or erroneously loaded when the merchandise is loaded in the loading port of a merchandise storage rack.
CONSTITUTION: The respective merchandise loading ports 11 of the plural merchandise storage racks 5 are provided with a gate means 13 switchable to a merchandise suppliable state X and an interruption state Y and an identifier detection means 14 for optically detecting an identifier (b) for each merchandise added to the merchandise (a). A control means 16 for operating a means 17 for reporting the erroneous loading of the merchandise (a) and switching the gate means 13 to the merchandise supply interruption state Y when the signal of compared information noncoincidence is issued from the information comparing means 15 of identifier detection information and information for each merchandise stored beforehand is provided.
