To enable a meshing clutch in which both first and second members are formed of sintered metal and a projecting part and a recessed part provided on end faces of the respective first and second members are engaged with each other to endure severer use conditions by strengthening an engagement part in a method preventing deterioration of initial conformability and aggressiveness to opposite materials.
The first member 2 having the projecting part 5 on the end face and the second member 3 having the recessed part 6 engaged with the projecting part 5 on the end face are formed of metallic sintered materials impregnated with resin in the as-sintered state. The compressive strength of the first and second members 2, 3 is improved by enhancing Rockwell hardness while maintaining the same micro-Vickers hardness as that of sintered materials in the as-sintered state.
