PURPOSE: To improve the message effect, by reading out and displaying a handwritten character stored in correspondence with a display time point to a storage means as the time elapses and at the same time deleting automatically the display as the time elapses.

CONSTITUTION: A handwritten character train is supplied from a handwritten character input part 31 of an input device 3, and at the same time both display start and end time points, for example, are fed from a display time input part 32. These input data are stored in a storage device 4. The handwritten character data set at the display start time point corresponding to the present time are all read out and displayed to a display device 5. Therefore plural handwritten characters are displayed on the display column of the device 5 in the form of a message. If there is a data having the coincident display end time point as the present time point elapses, the handwritten character data are automatically deleted thereafter.
