Then when other terminal equipment 11 dials to call the terminal equipment 1n, a guide display is given to the display device of the terminal equipment 11. As soon as the terminal equipment 1n is called according to the display, a special tone representing the presence of a message is returned from the equipment 2. The special tone is changed into a conventional ring tone and the message of the terminal equipment 1n is displayed on the display device of the terminal equipment 11. Thus, the looking over of the display is avoided.
