PURPOSE: To transmit plural kinds of messages different at each caller to a called party by providing a means registering plural kinds of messages to each line circuit and selecting one of them.

CONSTITUTION: Line circuits 102, 202 of telephone sets 101, 201 are provided with message group storage devices 106, 206, reception message storage devices 105, 205, signal control circuits 103, 203 and line control circuits 104, 204. Moreover, the telephone sets 101, 201 are provided with display sections 101a, 201a representing the content of message incoming, selection buttons 101b, 201b selecting the message and read selection buttons 101c, 201c reading the received message. Then in calling a called party via a caller channel 500, a desired message is transmitted to the reception message storage device of a called telephone set by depressing the selection button if the called party does not respond, and the message is stored therein.
