Abstract:
To provide a molten metal purification device where the purification performance of a molten metal is improved to increase the productivity of a product, and further, the reduction of filtering cost is made possible.SOLUTION: A molten metal purification device is constituted in such a manner that a molten metal M as a purification object circulates through a molten metal circulation body composed of: a pair of side walls confronted in a width direction; and a bottom wall connecting them. An inside member 4A provided at the inside of the molten metal circulation body is composed of: a pair o electrodes capable of flowing electric current in the width direction of the molten metal circulation body; and a non-conductive filter arranged between them as a conductive member having an electric resistance value higher than the electric resistance value of the molten metal. Further, an outside member 4B provided at the outside of the molten metal circulation body is composed as a magnetic field apparatus in which the upper face side is magnetized to an N pole or an S pole, and is arranged at the lower part of the molten metal circulation body in such a manner that a magnetic line going from the N pole or a magnetic line entering the S pole and the electric current are crossed so as to generate Lorentz force driving the molten metal in a circulation direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1(c)
