To improve a metallic band quality and increase yielding thereof by inserting a sheet, rigidity of which is lower than that of the metallic band, between the bands at both edge parts of the metallic band so as to take up the band and the sheets together.

The metal band 3 is taken up by a reel 2, which being equipped with a rubber sleeve 1 around its outer periphery. In that case, sheets 5a, 5b, rigidity of which is lower than that of the metal band 3, are inserted between the band 3 at both edge parts 4 in a plate width direction, and the band 3, the sheets 5a, 5b are taken up to the reel 2 under a status that they are laid over. Rigidity of the sheets 5a, 5b is one third or less than that of the band 3. A sheet made of, for example, paper and vinyl may be used. Also, when a steel plate is taken up, an aluminum made sheet may be used. Material property of a paper made sheet is not specially limited but a paper being made of a vegetable fiber or a chemical fiber and the like as a raw material may be used. Sheet thickness is preferable to be 0.5-2.0 times of a plate crown of the metal band.
