In a surface part 22 of a metal-made grinding wheel base metal 2, a plurality of V grooves 21 are provided in parallel and in a condition providing an equal space. In the V groove 21 thus formed, abrasive grains 1 which consists of diamond or cubic system boron nitride (CBN) are provided. These abrasive grains 1 are mounted (or connected) through a metal bond material 3 in the V groove 21. As this metal bond material 3, a material is adopted, which is composed of metal-made wax material containing titanium (Ti) with good wettability between itself and the diamond abrasive grains 1 or the like, or composed of nickel plating means or the like. The abrasive grains are set up in the V groove 21, by the bond material, to be firmly held onto the grinding wheel base metal 2. By a space formed between the V grooves adjacent to each other, a circulating path or the like of a coolant is formed, so as to enhance cooling efficiency.
