Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal can for preserving a food product sterilized by heat treatment after closing the can by using an optimized quantity of a material.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a metal can 40 which is used for preserving a food product sterilized by heat treatment after closing the can, which includes an integral body forming a bottom 41 and a side wall 43 of the can, and a lid mounted on the body so as to seal the body, and in which the minimum thickness of the side wall 43 is 20% to 60% of the thickness of the center of the bottom 41. According to the present invention, the height of the can 40 is 1.5 to 3.5 times the width thereof. The bottom 41 and/or a lid 42 of the can include a central wall 411, 421 with an outward-convex shape, and are connected to the side wall by a peripheral groove 410, 420 opened outward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
