To solve the problem in the conventional metal-ceramics composite that working costs are high and particularly working of through holes, such as deep holes, is difficult.
In this metal-ceramics composite, a part of the composite material is composed of ceramic fibers having 5-40 vol.% fiber filling ratio and the other part is composed of SiC, Al2O3, or AlN powder having 40-80 vol.% powder filling ratio. This metal-ceramics composite is produced by allowing a metal to penetrate into a ceramic powder. At this time, the penetration of metal is performed by inserting a ceramic fiber board between previously formed plural preforms or into ceramic powder filled in a molding box and then allowing an alloy composed essentially of aluminum to penetrate into the fiber- board-containing preform or ceramic powder.
