Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal scavenging method which comprises using a combination of at least two specified compounds selected from compounds known as metal scavengers and used in known methods for scavenging or detoxifying metals contained in waste water, smokes from a refuse incineration plant, slags from mines, sludge, contaminated soil, or the like, to attain such an excellent metal scavenging effect as not to be expected from the case in which the compounds are used singly. SOLUTION: This method comprises adding at least two members selected from the group consisting of thiourea, oxine, diphenylcarbazide, thioglycolic acid, dimethylglyoxime, and guanidine sulfamate to waste containing metals to scavenge the metals from the waste.
