Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel catalyst component having excellent polymerization activity for the production of α-olefin polymers and copolymers, particularly high-molecular-weight polymers, and methods for producing α-olefin polymers and copolymers using the same.SOLUTION: A metal complex is obtained by bringing a compound represented by formula [I] or [II] into contact with a transition metal compound containing a transition metal of group 9, 10, or 11 in the periodic table.
