Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain the title polymer having excellent mechanical properties and improved oxidation resistance and wetting properties with plastic by subjecting a specific random copolymer to heat reaction and heat melting with a polycyclic aromatic compound within a specific temperature range. CONSTITUTION:(A) A random copolymer bonded through Si-C couple group to carbon of aromatic ring of a polycyclic aromatic compound-containing petroleum based or coal based pitch or heat treated product thereof as at least part of Si of transition metalcontaining organosilicon polymer consisting essentially of Si-CH2 bond unit or the above-mentioned Si-CH2 unit and Si-Si bond unit, having H, lower alkyl group, etc., at side chain of Si and having a atom such as Ti, Zr, etc., bonded directly or through O atom to at least part of Si of main skeleton consisting of the above-mentioned bond unit is subjected to heat reaction and heat melting with (B) a polycyclic aromatic compound consisting of both phase with optically isotropic phase at 200-500 deg.C.
