PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a self-grinding type antifouling coating composition which is soluble in an organic solvent and is used to provide an antifouling coating capable of maintaining long-term hydrolyzability, exhibiting an excellent antifouling effect in the sea for a long period of time.
SOLUTION: This metal-containing resin composition is obtained by copolymerizing a metal-containing monomer mixture (A) which is composed of a reaction product between an inorganic metal compound and a carboxy group-containing radically polymerizable monomer, an organic solvent containing at least an alcohol-based solvent and water and has 0.01-30 mass % water content with another radically polymerizable unsaturated monomer (B). This antifouling coating composition is obtained by using the metal-containing resin composition.
