PURPOSE: To provide the metal cord excellent in corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance and oblique shear strength resistance, to provide the method for producing the same, and further to provide the composite material such as a tire, a conveyer belt or a high pressure hose, excellent in durability and produced by embedding the cord as a reinforcing material in a rubber.

CONSTITUTION: The second group of n (1≤n≤10) pieces of metal filaments 2 is twisted on the first group of 1+m (4≤m≤5) pieces of metal filaments 1 arranged in parallel to each other to form a metal cord having a structure of (1+m)/parallel + n. Therein, the diameter (dc) of a filament arranged in the core of the first group of the nontwisted metal filaments and the diameter (do) of the m metal filaments arranged in parallel to each other around the first group of the metal filaments have a relation of do {1/sin(π/ m)-1}+3/100≤dc≤do{1/sin(π/m)-1}+14/100.
